mission: serve those who serve

Vision: A world where every hero finds purpose, belonging, and mental well-being, with zero suicides among our nation’s heroes.

Fargo Police Officer Jake Wallin

Background

On Friday, July 14th, 2023, Fargo Police Officer Jake Wallin was killed at 23 years old while helping the town he committed to serve and protect. Officer Wallin also served our country in Iraq and Afghanistan through in the Minnesota Army Guard. We mourn the loss of this important, stand up servant of others.

In the same senseless act of violence, two other Fargo Police officers were injured: Officer Andrew Dotas and officer Tyler Hawes. A fourth, Officer Zach Robinson, killed the gunman. These heroes risk their lives every day to serve their community. We stand behind the blue.

"Operation Blue Light" encourages households to display blue lights at their homes as a symbol of appreciation for our dedicated law enforcement officers. By illuminating our neighborhoods in blue, we can send a powerful message of support and solidarity.

Impact

Heroes Compass partnered with Sandy's Donuts in Fargo, ND to distribute 400 blue lights and a limited edition Blue Line donut, showing support to our local law enforcement officers. Over $11,000 was raised to donate to the four officers families. We back the blue.
